Welcome to the NEW Ultimate Poker Challenge website

Hello to all fellow poker players:

I am one of the editors of the blog on the NEW Ultimate Poker Challenge (UPC) website and want to share some of the many new features. First off, we have obviously added a UPC blog to keep everyone updated on new site and TV show happenings. The UPC will be updated daily to deliver the latest UPC news, upcoming episodes and new exciting details about the NEXT TOURNAMENT!

Check out the "player's area" where you can find bios, photos, and video snippets of almost every player (that is, every player that sat down for an interview). You can find out some of their secrets and also get a taste of what the actual show is like.

The soon to be "backdoor" will be populated with all kinds of poker-related content. I can't wait for that myself!

And then don't forget to tune in for the upcoming semi-finals and finals coming in February, 2005. They say that Daniel Negreneau is hosting one of the semi-finals and the BRUNSONS (Doyle and his son Todd) are hosting the finals..... WATCH OUT!!!

One of the only commercial blogs worthy of the designation 'blog'. Excellent new site and a top notch blog, I'll be reading and linking on a regular basis.

RE: Poker etiquette
There is a proper decorum adhered to by all poker players, even though I want all of your money as quick as I can get it. Lately on T.V. there has been a disgusting display of ignorance by a gent who wears a grey hood and one other who uses his hands in a voodoo manner.
Please take charge of these players in the poker room or in the alley. Just don't let poker become like wrestling
Thank you

I wanted to comment that having Daniel as the “color” announcer was EXCELLENT. He has the enthusiasm, the knowledge, and the banter that really made the show. I would say that you need to sign him to a contract and keep him as the regular announcer.

I have watched Daniel play, many times, and admired his ability. I just never knew that he had the “screen presence” to be one of the top rated color announcers!!!!!

At some point during each showing of the Ultimate Poker Challenge, before
the commercial break, Brandi Williams says, "Hey, Boys," when speaking to
those watching the program.  Please have her say something more appropriate. Not all poker fans are male.  It's bad enough that you only have a female model, no male model.  At least have her say something like, "Hey Poker
Fans," or something else equally gender neutral.

Thank you,

On 1/15/05, the show had a question "If a player has 2 3's what are his/her odds of getting trips and the answer was given as 20%. The Wizard of Poker's site says 11.8%. What is the correct answer and how do you figure it?

Just finished watching Episode 20.

DANIEL AND EVELYN were absolutely the best commentating team on poker I have ever heard - bar none. What an outstanding job!!! They were GREAT!!! Daniel has the energy, wit, quickness, and humor that makes for a perfect host - not to mention a depth of knowledge and a sometimes quirky but superior ability to get across points of play that were educational and informative WITHOUT throwing it in your face. And Evelyn was sharp, quick, articulate, and pretty to boot.

It was a real pleasure to watch and listen to them.
